The 75-ton Timber Wolf (IS: Madcat) is a powerful and deadly OmniMech fielded by the Clans. Its distinctive design has become emblematic of the MechWarrior series and the BattleTech universe in general. The Timber Wolf boasts an impressive balance of weaponry which gives it considerable firepower at all ranges.

Legacy Edit

Timber Wolves have been piloted by numerous legendary MechWarriors. In the Battletech timeline, Khan Vladimir Ward of Clan Wolf currently stands poised to strike back into the Lyran Alliance and Arc-Royal Defence Cordon as a Crusader Clan waiting for the chance to breach the permanent ceasefire with the Inner Sphere. At the helm of his Timber Wolf he will no doubt add to the legend and mystique of this remarkable Clan design. Other pilots include Khan Phelan Kell of Clan Wolf in Exile, Aiden Pryde, also known as the Jade Phoenix, who dies at the battle of Tukkayid whilst defending the fallen mech of his freeborn daughter, Diana. In the Inner Spherem, a Timber Wolf D is in the possession of Comacho's Cabelleros formerly the personal 'mech of Colonel Don Carlos Comacho, it now belongs to Kali "Lady K" MacDougal. The Timber Wolf is able to fill the role of a long-range support 'mech due to its heavy LRM-20s. However to simply classify it as fire-support would be to overlook the massive PPCs and laser reserves it contains. The Timber Wolf is able to outgun many IS Assualt Class 'mechs. The sight of one of these 'mechs on a battlefield sends shivers even to the most experienced Atlas pilots.

TriviaEdit

  • In most sources, the Timber Wolf is always a 75 ton heavy 'Mech, but in MechAssault it appears as a 100 ton assault 'Mech.
